Safety, Practicality and Innovation, This was the guidelines when developing the Terrawest Core 22 Litre Backpack. Terrawest partnered up with Recco Advanced Rescue Technology to bring you a new freeriding/downhill Recco installed backpack to the market. 

Designed with modern production methods, lightweight and durable materials the Core 22 Backpack has all the features you need for entering backcountry terrain or a day on the piste with friends and family. 

Terrawest Core 22 Inside (Interior):

• With 22 Litres of usable storage, the Core 22 Litre Backpack offers 4 main storage compartments where you can easily store extra base layers, ski jacket,  lunch and more. A fleeced line goggle pocket allows you to protect your goggles from fluff or dirt. Store your mobile phone, camera or energy bars within the two hip belt pockets. 

• For quick access, a separate safety compartment has been added in order for you to access your avy essentials like your Shovel and Probe, the Terrawest Core Light Shovel & 240 Core probe are the perfect companions for this pack. 

• You can easily store the TerraWest First Aid Kit within the bag with your avy safety essentials,  you can find this backpack and first aid within the Terrawest backpack first aid package.

• A Recco Swatch in the safety compartment will give you all of the information you need to know about the Recco.

• Access to the main compartment via the back. 

• Inside of the pack a bright orange has been added for ease of finding your equipment.

• Removable SAS-TEC Foam Back protector offers maximum protection against multiple impacts when skiing or boarding. 

Terrawest Core 22 Outside (Exterior):

• For maximum safety Terrawest have installed a Recco Reflector to the top of the backpack, this allows search and rescue patrollers to find you in the case of an avalanche emergency. 

• Red Safety Zippers have been added to the safety compartment in order for you to locate your avy tools quickly in the case of an emergency.   

• Mount your skis Diagonally or A-Frame using the elasticated side panels. 

• Carry your snowboard directly on the front of the Terrawest Core 22 Litre Backpack, snowshoes can also be carried with the same straps. 

• Comfortable hip belts with pockets on either side for ease of storing accessories.  

• A Safety Whistle has been implemented to the sternum straps in order to attract attention in an emergency. 

• Within the front pocket of the pack, a Helmet Net has been added to carry your helmet when hiking. 

• Padded Back Protection will help you withstand multiple impacts. 

• Ice Axe and hiking pole fastening on the front of the pack. 

• Easily compress the load of your pack with Compression Straps either side of the backpack.

SAS-TEC Back Protection:

Do you usually suffer with back pain or want to keep your back protected at all times when skiing or boarding, this backpack has everything you need and more, the removable protector will protect you against slow or fast heavy impacts making it multi impact compliant. 

Characteristics of the SAS-TEC Back Protector

• Viscoelastic foam with memory effect - After an impact or any kind of deformation the foam protector returns to its original shape within seconds.
  

• Multi impact compliant - Unlike many other dampening materials such as styrofoam (EPS), silicone or foam of inferior quality,  The PU-foam is multi impact compliant. 
  Lightweight - High absorbability despite low density. Hard shell protectors or materials containing silicone are considerably more heavy which reduces the wearing comfort. 
  

• Adaptive absorption - The protector remains soft in case of slow impacts however when it comes to a fast heavy impact the resistance of the foam grows with increasing speed. The damping happens by air-changing in the foam-bubbles. 
  

• In impulse responding behaviour - SAS-TEC foam reacts promptly without any time delay even to minor impacts. 
  

• Environmental compatibility - The raw materials of the SAS-TEC foam production are partly made of renewable materials. It is therefore possible to dispose of the protectors with the regular household garbage.

• Long product life - Some manufacturers of body protection only indicate a product life of two to three years their protectors, whereas SAS-TEC foam comes with a life expectancy of about ten years. 

Recco Installed:

Built with safety in mind, Terrawest partnered with Recco (Advanced Rescue Technology) and included a Recco Reflector to the top of the backpack in order for search and rescue teams to be able to search for a victim in the case of an avalanche emergency situation. 

Terrawest Core Light Shovel

Remarkably lightweight, practical and pack friendly, This 3 Piece Terrawest Core Light Shovel is the perfect shovel for all ski tourers and off-piste enthusiasts who want to be lightweight when carving through the snow but still place emphasis on their equipment. 

Terrawest Core Light Shovel Composition:

Manufactured with modern production methods and extremely strong but lightweight materials, this shovel only weighs just 475 g. For the blade of the shovel, Terrawest used a high-end heat treated 5052 Aluminium that offers a weight-to-strength ratio and has non slip grooves to stop you from slipping when digging. For the Telescopic Stem, a 6061 Aluminium,  this allows you to quickly make adjustments to the shaft and is very pack friendly

The telescopic function also means that the shovel can be used at full length, for maximum power, or at a shorter length for the greatest possible efficiency of movement in tighter spaces.

The blade offers high walls and a pronounced centre on the blade which allows you to carry a high volume of snow. 

A classic T-Style grip offers a non-slip plastic material so digging is easier when wearing ski gloves

A Vibrant Blue and Safety Orange allows the shovel to be seen from a distance in the case of an avalanche accident.

Terrawest Core 240 Quick Lock Avalanche Probe

TerraWest Core Quick Lock 240 Probe, built with TerraWest'sSafety, Practicality and Innovation guidelines, this 240 cm probe is incredibly fast to deploy and is made for weight-conscious outdoor enthusiasts, weighing just 299 g.

Features:

• Quick Locking System - TerraWest made it their mission to create a probe with speed and with a deployment time of 6 seconds from quick release cover to a fully assembled probe and 14 seconds from ski backpack to assembled probe | TerraWest managed to achieve this by adding a quick automatic locking system to the top of the probe, this offers deployment in one motion.

• Prominent Depth Markers have been used within this probe to determine burial depth and which shovel method you use.

• A Large Probe Tip has been added so you can easily cut through avalanche snow slabs and ice.

• The TerraWest Core Quick-Lock Probe Series comes with a quick-assembly strap and release cover, making it easy to release the probe from your ski backpack and probe cover in One Motion.
